Cornish+Pani Abogados represented Pantaya in the structuring and formalization of exclusive collaboration agreements with renowned entertainment figures, as part of its original content expansion strategy for the Hispanic market.
As part of this mandate, the firm provided legal advice on the hiring of high-profile talent such as Mauricio Ochmann, Maite Perroni, Fernanda Castillo, Vadhir Derbez, José Eduardo Derbez, among others, who agreed to participate exclusively in audiovisual productions—including series, films, and special formats—developed by Pantaya for a period of 3 to 5 years.
The advice included the negotiation and documentation of framework agreements, exclusivity agreements, image rights, intellectual property rights, and commercial terms, ensuring the alignment of interests between the talent and the platform in a highly competitive and strategic environment for content production.
This project not only consolidated Pantaya’s position as a key player in the generation of original content for Spanish-speaking audiences in the United States and Latin America, but also contributed to its strategic positioning for its subsequent acquisition by TelevisaUnivision and eventual integration into the VIX platform.
